RYDGES WELLINGTON, Wellington – A Smart Stay in the City

I had a wonderful stay at the Rydges. The room was spacious and I was amazed by the fantastic hotel shower with perfect height, pressure, and drainage. The service was impeccable, with staff who genuinely seemed proud of their work. The location couldn't be faulted, being close to the harbor and city. However, the lingering steak smell from the restaurant kitchen was a downside. The dining experience left something to be desired with undercooked eggs and cold food, but the overall value for the price paid was good.

The hotel had clean and spacious rooms with great views of Wellington Harbour and Mt. Victoria. However, it was quite hot upon check-in, and noise from the hallway was noticeable. The service was friendly and helpful, with prompt room changes and discounts offered, but there were issues with concierge responses. The location was central, within walking distance of popular attractions, although being distant from the city was a drawback. The dining experience was delicious, albeit expensive, and the facilities were well-equipped.

The hotel offered a quiet and clean stay, but the view of the construction site was off-putting. Although the room felt more like a staff area, it provided a peaceful and clean environment, despite the slight disappointment of the construction views.
